Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This agreement outlines the relevant terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your obligations for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To hire a vehicle from Bootle, drivers must be at least 21 years old, with age limits varying by vehicle type. Those under 25 may incur additional fees. A valid driving licence relevant to the vehicle category is required, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification and proof of current address must be presented, along with payment details and a security deposit. Additional criteria may be specified in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Bootle office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed securely through established payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as received, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. Please return the vehicle with the fuel level that matches the initial state; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may incur extra charges, so please inform us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You will be held responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Full coverage specifics and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your financial risk. It is advisable to review these thoroughly. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the excess amount unless further insurance is obtained. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse is your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise details, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional fees.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Vehicles must not be used for illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any hazardous actions. Transporting dangerous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting to unauthorized parties or allowing unapproved drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Vehicles should only be used in accordance with their intended purpose, and adherence to passenger and weight limits is required. Driving outside of the agreed geographical boundaries without prior authorization is also not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Bootle will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months.
